STCW 95 course:

STCW: Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping.
What is a STCW-95? It is a license which allows you to work on any vessel at sea, and is compulsory to get before stepping foot on any vessel. Companies will generally not consider you for a job unless you have done the Course. The STCW code is similar to that of the US Coast Guard licensing regulations.

Super Yacht Deckhand Course:

Every second week of every month for a total of three days. The course covers items such as daywork, dockwalking, visas, crew agents, placement, career development, guest interaction. Course completion certificates, Seaman’s discharge books, training record books for future training, first reference. Training on 35 meter yachts at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

Super Yacht Chef Course:

This dynamic Course, put together by former industry experts, is available to those with cooking experience / formal chef qualifications.The Super Yacht Industry continues to become more professional and we focus on equipping our Chefs with the insider’s knowledge needed for working on these boats. Being an excellent cook is only one of the aspects needed for working as a chef on the luxury vessels, more and more crew agents and Captains expect chefs to already be clued up in terms of provisioning, cooking, working and living in confined conditions and cooking at sea.

Approved Engine Course (AEC):

Over the 30 hour (five day) duration of the course the following topics are covered in respect of diesel engines:

General principles of compression ignition engines
Cycle of operation and construction details
Fuel system
Role of air in the combustion process
Cooling, lubrication and electrical systems
Power transmissions
Hull fittings
Pollution legislation
Code of Safe Working Practices
Bottled LPG installations
The four basic STCW 95 modules are also a requirement for a certificate to be issued.
