On the eve of 31st March 2015, an unexpected call was received by the Certified Team notifying them that they had in fact been chosen to represent South Africa at the annual Superyacht Awards in Amsterdam.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Certified Superyacht Academy were instrumental in putting South Africa on the “Superyacht Map” and have dedicated years to crafting their trade in order to provide training perfection.

Co-Founder, Conrad Callow had this to say: “It is an honour and a privilege to be given this opportunity to represent South Africa at the highest level possible and we are thrilled to be recognised as one of the World’s best Superyacht crew training providers

What drives many to take up a life on the sea, you ask?

With more Superyachts in the water than ever before and 29km of yachts currently being built (predicted to be in the water within the next 3 years), there has never been a better time to venture into this industry and explore the opportunity to travel whilst getting paid to do so.

As ex-Superyacht crew, the Certified Team have extensive insight into the industry and “know what it’s all about”. This knowledge has become the cornerstone of their operations and has assisted more than 3000 crew gain employment over the last 7 years. As anyone will tell you, this industry isn’t for the faint of heart, therefore, it is imperative that aspiring crew complete Superyacht specific training relevant to their job role on board.

Later in the year, The Certified Team will be meeting up with none other than Roman Abramovich (Owner of Chelsea Football Club, Russian Businessman & Investor) to discuss his crew’s training requirements for his new 190m Superyacht……that’s right, you heard it here first!

Owning a Superyacht is the ultimate status symbol, and as the World’s elite acquire more wealth we can look forward to bigger and better Superyachts on the water.

So, if you’re sick and tired of that mundane 9 – 5  job and need some adventure in your life before age becomes that regrettable excuse, consider taking up a life on the sea and enjoy all it has to offer.

We hope you enjoyed the read………HAPPY APRIL FOOLS! 🙂
