RYA DAY SKIPPER PACKAGE

RYA Day Skipper Package

This step-up, Intermediate Yacht Deckhand course provides students with an RYA Day Skipper certification and takes place over 4 weeks in Cape Town and Langebaan. These beautiful West Coast cruising grounds are where you will be learning to sail a 36ft vessel with our RYA sail training partners, Yachtmaster Ocean Sailing School, under the guidance of highly experienced sailing instructors.

The intermediate RYA Day Skipper course includes all elements from the Basic Yacht Deckhand course PLUS the RYA Superyacht Tender Operator course (Night Rating), RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper Theory and Practical sailing courses.

Gaining your RYA Day Skipper qualification is a great achievement on its own and allows you to sail a yacht up to 20 miles from a nominated departure point. It is also the first stepping stone towards your RYA Yachtmaster Offshore license (200gt Certificate of Competence) which is regarded as the Rolls Royce of yachting qualifications in the superyacht industry.

On successful completion, *top performing Yacht Deckhand students have an opportunity (space dependent), to gain real-life experience and their first “Superyacht” reference via an unpaid day work program. *T&C’s apply.
